N° 29 novembre 2022 On Saturday December 3 at 2:00 p.m. in Paris at the Maltais Rouge (75 rue de Malte, 75011 Paris, République or Oberkampf metro), the revolutionary party COMMUNISTES is organizing a political initiative to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Algeria's independence.
At a time when clashes are raging within the imperialist system which are reflected, among other things, in the war in Ukraine and which have already bloodied many regions of the world and particularly in Africa and the Middle East, it seems important to us to recall and to measure that the struggle of peoples for their national independence has been able to defeat leading imperialist powers such as France and the USA, as was the case in Vietnam and Algeria. It seems to us just as important not to relax internationalist class solidarity when these same imperialist powers intend to continue to dominate the world.
During this initiative in which the Algerian and French communists will intervene, we will give the floor to communist parties particularly attached to the anti-imperialist struggle, as well as to associations and historians who will return to the harsh reality of the national liberation struggle in Algeria, but also on what it has allowed in terms of the development of an independent nation.
Recent events in Algeria, what is called Hirak show that history is not over and that it is the people who make it. We therefore invite you to participate in this initiative, to bring your militant witness to it in order to strengthen the ties which unite the Algerian and French revolutionaries against imperialism and in the struggle for socialism, peace and cooperation between the peoples.
