N°15-07/08/2021 "It is always the oppressor, not the oppressed, who defines the nature of the struggle. If the oppressor uses violence, the oppressed has no choice but to respond with violence" Nelson Mandela.
The violent repression against the demonstrations of the Palestinian people and the general strike widely followed in occupied Palestine in the conflict engaged by Israel against the Gaza Strip, resulted in this terrible toll: 230 Palestinians dead and 12 Israelis. The only responsible is the racist and apartheid state of Israel, which methodically pursues its policy of colonization and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian populations with the active complicity of the USA, the European Union and especially France. We wrote that there was nothing to expect from the last Knesset elections, and this is shown by the facts. Against the outgoing Netanyahu, a coalition was formed ranging from Social Democrats to far-right parties, even fascist or Jewish supremacists, including the Raam party (Arab of Israel) close to the Muslim Brotherhood. This coalition does not intend to move one iota on the line of colonization of all Palestine and the non-recognition of the Palestinians' right to return and to a State. Therefore, the cessation of hostilities has not resolved any of the substantive problems. What are these issues? They are the result of the very creation of the State of Israel which has resulted in a massive plundering of the Palestinian population driven from their lands by terrorist and military actions. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were forced into exile, while the rest suffered and still endure colonization. This colonization has accelerated in the area internationally recognized by the UN as being the territory of the future Palestinian state thus making territorial continuity impossible. The theft of land and the destruction of villages further undermine the existence of a viable economy and turn Palestinians into a captive and rightless workforce. In Jerusalem, the eastern part of which is recognized as the capital of the future Palestinian State, the State of Israel is organizing ethnic cleansing and it is the expulsion of Palestinian families that recently sparked the demonstrations against the occupation forces. While the media have insisted a lot on the demonstrations of Arab Israelis in cities called mixed, they forget to say that racists and Jewish supremacists have engaged in real pogroms and that in "ordinary" times, these Israeli Arabs are not not full citizens in the eyes of the state because they are non-Jews. They also forgot to talk about the situation of the Gazans where in the overpopulated Gaza Strip – a real prison camp from which they cannot get out, survive more than 2.5 million people who are regularly subjected to bombings by the Israeli army, without the slightest prospect of escaping. Under these conditions, how not to understand the deep and legitimate anger of the Palestinian people and especially of its youth with no prospects for the future. What is new in the period that has just passed is the renewed will to struggle in the occupied territories as well as in Gaza and among the Palestinians living in the territory of Israel. This fact has been noted by many observers, as well as in the reactions of the main Arab countries despite the fact that many of them are now siding with Israel.
What will come out of this? It is very difficult to say, but it opens up a new field for the struggle of the Palestinian people for their rights and especially the inalienable right to an independent and sovereign State. For the time being the repression of the colonizer is violent. It affects thousands of Palestinians. But everything shows, as attested by the truce Israël had to accept with Hamas, that the most brutal repressive policy did not bend the will for freedom and independence of the Palestinian people. Israel's impunity must end; an impunity owed to the unwavering support of the USA, the European Union and, in particular the support of the French government which must stop. Those who activate political and economic sanctions against Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, Belarus... do not lift a finger when it comes to their ally who therefore feels free to perpetrate violence against a whole people.
Our party reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle for their rights and especially the right to a State. We support the campaigns for the political, economic and cultural boycott of Israel; we demand from the French government that it cease its support for Israel and as a first step break its diplomatic relations with it.
