Bulletin No45 avril 2024 Surviving in Gaza
Rafah is bombed daily. And, the Palestinians who were able to return to Khan Younes, after the departure of the occupying army, discovered day after day a heap of horrors, such as nearly 400 corpses buried in the ground near the al-Qaeda hospital. Nasser.  The UN has issued a formal protest and is calling for an independent investigation.
But the Zionist army continues to kill with impunity and prevent supply trucks from entering the Strip or reaching the north, or they practically empty them before letting them enter. The health situation is always the same: people die of infection or sepsis due to lack of care, others die of hunger. And all this does not move many people in the “journalistic” world in France and in imperialist countries in general.
Fortunately, there are real journalists, including in Israel. Israeli journalist Amira Hass wrote a long article in Haaretz on April 10 on the toll of the war and the conditions of survival in Gaza.
It begins: "  Due to the limits of the human imagination (as opposed to the imagination of war mongers and arms manufacturers) and in the absence of an entirely different dictionary, there is no a real way to describe the destruction and losses suffered in Gaza, after six months of war.  »
Then, she talks about children trembling or sobbing. Reading his article, we learn that at the end of January, UNICEF counted 17,000 children wandering in the Gaza Strip without being accompanied by an adult. To this must be added the 14,000 dead children and the uncounted number of those who have lost limbs, suffered from burns and post-traumatic disorders.
We also learn that Palestinians in Gaza now represent 80% of all people facing famine or severe hunger in the world.
This extract, too, is significant: “  At the end of January 2024, material destruction in the Gaza Strip was estimated at approximately $18.5 billion. This is the cost of 50 fighter jets that the Biden administration wants to sell to Israel.  ".
For our state's leaders and the media 's vehicles of dominant ideology , this is all a series of non-events. At best, they keep silent about them, at worst they explain to us that it is the fault of “  Hamas terrorists  ”.
The imperialists support Israel more than ever
One of the exercises that these same media have been engaging in for several weeks is that of saying that Biden and Netanyahu are angry, while obscuring the aid provided to the genocidal state in arms and ammunition, which far from Stopping, or even slowing down, continues more than ever.
The Palestinian Authority recently decided to officially demand that it be granted full membership in the UN. Biden and the other Western imperialist heads of state had long since renounced the so-called “  two-state solution  ” in favor of normalization. Biden, upon his return to the White House as president, sought above all easy political success in the Middle East by striving to get the Saudi kingdom to board the " normalization with Israel " train, which his predecessor, Donald Trump, had embarked on a new path with the Abraham Accords concluded with the complicity of the United Arab Emirates. However, since October 7, 2023, the Palestinian volcano has awakened, with the operation launched by the Palestinian fighters and the war of annihilation led by Israel which followed, unprecedented in madness and intensity of destruction since. at least half a century, not only in the Middle East but throughout the world. The “  solution  ” (which is in reality a liquidation) therefore returned to the table, and the American president called for the “revitalization” of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.
Britain had announced its willingness to consider recognizing  the PA "state  ", while other European countries, including Spain followed by France, began preparing for similar recognition. It should be noted that the same British government which expresses its readiness for this recognition, rejects the call made by official and unofficial British legal experts to stop supplying weapons to the State of Israel, and therefore continues to share responsibility for a war that violates the most fundamental rules of this law regarding the conduct of wars.
Recognizing such a state was no easy task, including for dominant imperialism. What value should be given, in fact, to a State founded on fragmented territories under the total control of the Zionist State, such that its supposed sovereignty would be of a type that would make it envy the bantustans created in the past by the regime? of apartheid in South Africa? And yet, the US administration has chosen to oppose the Palestinian Authority's request.
The justification for the US veto is that such recognition is “not  a matter for the UN  ”, but must result “  from negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians  ”. We can see all the contempt for what is supposed to be the meeting of the nations of the world and how, for the US leaders, whoever they may be, Israel is the only one who can decide. Nothing can better enlighten us on the reality of the thinking of US leaders (and their allies) on the implementation of the false two-state solution and especially on the real state of their ties with Israel.
We saw confirmation of this with the vote for 13 billion additional military aid to Israel, decided by Congress and voted by the Senate. When it comes to defending their “  organic extension  ”, Republicans and Democrats manage to reach agreement without any problem.
In France, an intensified wave of repression
The repression against any denunciation of Israel's colonial or genocidal role has taken an unprecedented turn in France.
The notion of apologizing for terrorism is widely used in particular by complaints from Zionist organizations, first and foremost the European Jewish Organization, at the origin, alone or accompanied by more than 80% of complaints. It is an offshoot of Betar, the Zionist fascists.
The offense  of “apology of terrorism  ” is vague in that article 421-2-5 of the penal code and law 2014-1353 of November 13, 2014 do not at any time define the notion of “  terrorism  ”. At the time of the vote on the bill, initiated by the left, PS and allies, then in power around François Hollande, timid protests were heard, giving rise to votes against. The CRC group, in the Senate, had in particular mentioned “  all those who, in history, were qualified as terrorists before being praised, once dead of course.  » and denounced “  official lists of terrorist organizations drawn up by the European Union and the United States which amalgamate authentic terrorist groups and political movements fighting against authoritarian or dictatorial regimes  ”. Besides the fact that the famous authoritarian and dictatorial regimes are no more defined than terrorism itself, this intervention, which was probably the most opposed to the text, does not denounce a crime of opinion.
However, this offense thus fabricated is one of the numerous measures taken to deprive individual and collective freedoms, through states of emergency, over the past decade. This is a real crime of opinion. It is therefore the interpretation of the judges which is central and which explains the convictions already decided against an ex-socialist municipal councilor of Echirolles (fired from the PS and dismissed from his deputy manat by the PCF mayor for this occasion) to 4 months suspended prison sentence and to an anti-colonialist activist from Montpellier, Abdel and the general secretary of the UD-CGT du Nord, Jean-Paul Delescaut, both to one year suspended prison sentence. It is certain that the Minister of Justice has given instructions so that the complaints are declared admissible; such a coincidence cannot be explained otherwise.
What is being targeted by the Zionist fascists and the capitalist state of Macron is the different discourse on this essential question of Palestine. It is not forbidden to speak about Palestine, to speak out for peace, but it is forbidden to say that Zionism is a colonial project, that the colonial state of Israel is the one and only responsible for all this. which has happened since 1948. It is even forbidden to approach this speech, which is criticized by LFI activists Rima Hassan and Mathilde Panot.
Macron and his apparatus repress firstly because they are afraid of popular protest, such as it exists in the USA, the United Kingdom, Italy or even, severely repressed, in Germany, but struggles to be widespread in France. But they also repress because, precisely, for years, they have used fear to govern.
They will not silence us. The Communist Revolutionary Party fights this censorship and repression, denouncing, day after day, the colonial state of Israel and Zionist ideology, the ongoing genocide. He is and will be alongside all those who are victims of this repression.
US students and academics stand up against the genocide
Columbia University is today a symbol in the USA. After the hearing of the president of the university before Congress on April 17, suspected  of "anti-Semitism  ", read "  sympathy with the Palestinian cause  ", a majority of students, notably anti-Zionist Jews, wanted to peacefully occupy the university in order to exert even more influence to put an end to the partnership with the Zionist universities of Israel.
The police now occupy the campus, screen students, and have arrested sympathizers of the Palestinian cause. The university management has suspended face-to-face classes, the majority of professors are protesting against this police intrusion decided by the mayor of New York, Democrat Eric Adams.
At Columbia, as in other universities in the USA, students and teachers denounce the genocide, demand an end to arms deliveries and an end to relations with the universities of the colonial state. The same protests, in various forms, are taking place in Rome and Sydney.
The mobilization against the ongoing genocide is growing all over the world, particularly in academic circles, despite the attempts of Zionists and imperialists to wave the flag of anti-Semitism.
In conclusion
The Palestinian question, the national liberation struggle of its people must remain the major concern of the people and workers of the world.
Under these conditions, if it is urgent and fundamental to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire, as well as free access for humanitarian workers throughout the Gaza Strip, or even the total withdrawal of the occupying forces from the enclave, that cannot be enough.
This is why the Communist Revolutionary Party supports the fundamental demands of the Palestinian national liberation movement: an immediate end to Zionist military aggression, the right of refugees to return and the formation of a Palestinian state on the territory of Mandatory Palestine.
