Bulletin No47 juin 2024 On June 8, Western media headlined the release of four “ hostages ” in Gaza. They published reports on the reception of these hostages, showing them as people with their affects and those of their loved ones, when the Palestinians are always numbers.
Everything is clear about what happened on June 8: a massacre
On the other hand, these same media , especially in France, were very discreet about the collateral damage of this liberation: the army invaded the overpopulated area of the Nuseirat camp, shooting at everything that moved. The toll is appalling, there are 210 dead and several hundred injured, the vast majority women and children.
Israeli ground forces hid inside a truck used to deliver humanitarian aid to infiltrate the Nuseirat refugee camp on June 8, carrying out another massacre of more than 200 Palestinians.
Dr. Tanya Haj-Hassan, a pediatric intensive care doctor at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), told Al Jazeera that Al-Awda Hospital: “ is a real bloodbath... it looks like a slaughterhouse. […] There is blood everywhere. Many people lost limbs. It was so horrible .”
Images broadcast by Al Jazeera television show the truck inside Nuseirat, accompanied by armored tanks.
“ A truck arrived, carrying humanitarian aid and clothes, and suddenly 10 soldiers got out and shot me, once in the chest and twice in the feet. The artillery fire started, and I saw dozens of citizens on the ground, including people with severed heads ,” a Palestinian who survived the massacre told reporters. And he continued: “ The truck came from the American port that the occupation established on the coast of Gaza .”
Israeli media confirmed that the troops hid inside a truck described as being used for " furniture delivery ." “ The Israeli military, including the Shin Bet and the Israeli police's special counterterrorism unit, Yamam, used a furniture delivery truck as cover to infiltrate the area near the hospital Al-Awda ,” Israel Hayom reported in the hours following the bloody operation that saw the release of four Israeli captives.
The role of the US imperialists
The “ hostages ” were transported to the US-built floating pontoon using the same truck. And, moreover, Gaza health authorities indicated that more than 200 Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed during the operation launched with the help of the American army . “ We confirm what has been revealed by the American and Hebrew media about American participation in the criminal operation that was carried out today ,” Hamas said in a statement.
We had already written about the doubts we had about the real role of this floating port supposedly built by the US army for humanitarian purposes. Instead of spreading the propaganda of humanitarian aid arriving by sea, which can never be sufficient, the dominant imperialists could have demanded from their Zionist friends the total opening of the crossing points south of Rafah and the free movement of trucks. humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. But, that would have meant that they were not lying about the real role of this pontoon. However, it is now completely clear that they lied. This mobile port is used to disembark US troops, so that they participate in the abuses and massacres perpetrated by the Zionist occupying army.
The complicity of dominant imperialism with the genocidaires does not only consist of supplying them with weapons, but of participating alongside them in bloody and genocidal operations.
In the rest of its press release, Hamas declares that: " Washington's involvement proves once again the complicit role of the American administration and its full participation in the war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip ."
“ We will not stop working until all the hostages have returned home and a ceasefire has been reached. It is essential that this happens ,” declared US President Joe Biden from France, which constitutes an admission of participation in a massacre. And Jake Sullivan, the national security adviser, added from Washington: “ The United States supports all attempts to free the hostages still held by Hamas, including American citizens. This includes ongoing negotiations or other means .” This has the merit of clarity.
The spokesman for Hamas's armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, said later Saturday: " By committing horrible massacres, the enemy was able to free some of its captives, but he also killed others in the process. The operation represents a great risk for enemy captives with a devastating impact on their living conditions .” No matter the cost to the captives, Israel and the US aim to kill, spread terror and claim so-called victories. But, without mentioning the captives killed and hailing their first successful operation to rescue captives after eight months of a genocidal war, Israeli officials implicitly acknowledged that other actions of this type had been launched without the same " triumphant " result. » (apart probably from other massacres).
As for the good souls who tell us that the far-right Netanyahu is the sole person responsible, they would do well to explain to us why the announcement of this massacre caused the postponement of the resignation of the leader of the opposition, Benny Gantz, of Netanyahu's national unity government.
The “work” of Western journalists
A journalist who wants to carry out his work without necessarily using the language of a genocidal army can easily obtain images of this carnage. He would see dozens of bodies in the streets, cars and buildings burning, pools of blood at the entrance to the only hospital still somewhat functioning. It may have, like health or Palestine solidarity organizations around the world, testimonies of a terrorized civilian population, having no place to shelter, defenseless and trying to save the injured. The compassion of the dominant media and the leaders of the Western world is decidedly variable. There is concern about the fate of the so-called hostages, but little or nothing when the Israeli army massacres more than 170 refugees in a camp on May 26, around sixty in an UNRWA school on June 6 and more than 200 civilians have just been murdered before our eyes.
Our media also proudly declared that “ the hostages were in good health .” So, despite the famine and lack of water in Gaza, they were able to eat and wash? While their jailers are “ terrorists ” who died without executing them?
On the other hand, our “ journalists ” are much less forthcoming about the fate of Palestinian prisoners and the practice of torture by those who detain them. Are Palestinian prisoners in Israel treated as well? Marwan Barghouti was severely beaten. Walid Daqqa died on April 7 after 39 years of detention and untreated cancer.
Western “journalists ” could investigate “ Israeli Guantanamo ”. Sde Teiman prison in the desert 30 km from Gaza is a place of torture, humiliation and beatings. Images of prisoners tied up blindfolded for days have been published. This is of little or no interest to our media . It is true that the Zionist state is a “ democracy ”.
In a recent press release denouncing this massacre, the French Jewish Union for Peace (UJFP) evokes the situation in the West Bank. “ Meanwhile, in the West Bank, daily attacks against the civilian population carried out jointly by the army and settlers are increasing. In reaction, the United States government, the one which arms the genocidaires and prevents their conviction by the Security Council, has just declared the Palestinian group “ The Lions Den ” as “ terrorist ” […]. This group attacks colonies declared illegal under international law. »
In conclusion
The Communist Revolutionary Party denounces the massacre of the Palestinian civilian population. The media and governments that criminalize Palestinian resistance and turn a blind eye to the daily murders perpetrated by the Zionist army are objectively complicit in the ongoing genocide.
Despite all these means deployed to silence solidarity with the Palestinians, despite blocked “information”, no one, neither media nor Western government, can prevent workers, youth, people from knowing that the population of Gaza is undergoing genocide. and to understand that the colonial nature of the Zionist state explains this genocide and implies that it cannot be part of any real peace, it is the main obstacle.
Of course we are for peace, but a just anti-colonial peace, not the colonial peace of the Oslo Accords. If it is urgent and fundamental to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire, as well as free access for humanitarian workers throughout the Gaza Strip, or even the total withdrawal of the occupying forces from the enclave, this cannot be enough.
A just peace means the dismantling of settlements, the return of refugees and a truly independent Palestinian state. What prevents such peace is the existence of a colonial state. The workers of Israel cannot be free if they do not break with Zionism, if they continue to find themselves objectively in the camp of the colonizers. Solidarity with Palestine cannot be satisfied with general phrases about peace. We need a state where the former colonizers and the former colonized can live together, in this case, a Palestinian state.
This is why the Communist Revolutionary Party intends, despite the obstacles, to continue to bring together all those who want an immediate ceasefire so that the massacre of the Palestinians stops and to speak out for peace. For us, this involves supporting the fundamental demands of the Palestinian national liberation movement: an immediate end to Zionist military aggression, the right of refugees to return and the formation of a Palestinian state on the territory of Mandatory Palestine.
