Bulletin N°59 2025 Georges Abdallah was recently interviewed by theonline media Palestine Chronicle , at his home in Kobayat. His contribution is, from the point of view of the Revolutionary Communist Party, essential to the Communists and to all those who want to get an idea of the colonial situation in Palestine and the prospects for national liberation. We will detail the thread of his thought, in particular on the question of the Palestinian national project, by giving large extracts from this meeting [1] .
While he indicated that the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation played a role " in clarifying certain aspects and correcting certain deviations ," he added: " without resolving the crisis of the Palestinian national project, we will remain at an impasse ."
The stakes of the anti-imperialist struggle
He recalls some fundamentals necessary for understanding the issues and specifies that the issue is not only the struggle for national liberation against the Zionist colonial state, because the latter is a link in the Western imperialist chain.
“ Israel is an organic extension of Western imperialism. Israel is not a colony or a mere settler colony. It is an organic extension of this imperialist West. Therefore, to confront this imperialist West, one must confront the crisis of the capitalist system in its imperialist form. Those who oppose this organic extension must position themselves on terrain hostile to capitalism. Therefore, the leaders of the Palestinian bourgeoisie, in its various forms—Islamic, nationalist, semi-nationalist, state-oriented, etc.—face a problem in this regard. And the Palestinian left finds itself in a very embarrassing situation, having so far failed to build national unity to confront this organic extension, and having failed to affirm national unity .”
The evolution of the Arab population in relation to the Palestinian revolution
Georges Abdallah, as he has done several times before, points to the responsibilities of the government, but also of the Arab population, in the deterioration of the situation: " The Arab street also has a responsibility. And those who are responsible for the national project must ask themselves the following question: why this abandonment on the part of the Arab street?
The Palestinian leadership [2] is no stranger to this abandonment. While Egypt and the United Arab Emirates are playing the role of mediators, how can we expect the Egyptian masses to apologize for not being at the forefront of the struggle? This is a considerable crisis. The value of the Palestinian revolution lies in its role as a lever for the Arab revolution. It is the historical lever of the Arab revolution. But it is no longer playing its role for several reasons. The Palestinian leadership must explain why it has abandoned this role. I see Qatar, which hosts the main base of US imperialism, as a mediator. The question is: a mediator between whom and whom? I also see Egypt, with a population of 120 million Arabs, as a mediator. The same question also faces Egypt. […] The Arab regimes are not passive agents. They are, in fact, participating in the ongoing genocide, there is no doubt about it. I note that not a single person was killed in Egypt during a demonstration, simply because there was no demonstration. " He added further: " Treason is present throughout the Arab world; a demonstration in Yemen or other Arab cities is not enough. Where is Jordan? Where are the 60% of the population of Amman who are of Palestinian origin? All of this is certainly part of the crisis of the national project, because these forces are responsible for national action. Palestinian national action aims either to elevate Palestine to the rank of revolutionary lever for the entire Arab nation, or to be the shield of these regimes. "
The Nature of the Crisis of the Palestinian National Project
Here again, Georges Abdallah returns to the essentials of the fundamental role of the Palestinian revolution and its evolution. He points out the reasons and the genesis of the crisis, and begins with everything that the leaders of the Resistance have to worry about: " Everyone is concerned, but the true leaders of the Palestinian revolution are best placed to answer a certain number of questions. They must provide answers to the crisis of this national project, to the Oslo crisis, to the crisis of the Palestinian Authority, to the crisis of the division between Fatah and Hamas, to the crisis of the dispersion of Palestinian forces, to the crisis of the withdrawal of a whole series of organizations, which have been transformed into names without titles, to the crisis of the mother of the Palestinian revolution, Fatah. "
He emphasizes the responsibility of the Palestinian Authority leadership: " It is unacceptable that there are approximately 60,000 full-time fighters within the Palestinian Authority whose task is limited to security coordination with Israel. And when we talk about national unity, what unity are we talking about? A unity in which 60,000 fighters hunt down the Fedayeen and deliver them to Israel, against those who see their children starve to death and continue to wave the flag. We all know the dangers of a civil war, but the dilemma of the national project remains. "
Finally, he evokes the duality of Fatah: " Let us not forget that 50% of the prisoners of the Palestinian revolution in Israeli jails are members of Fatah, but it was also Fatah that negotiated the Oslo Accords and it was Fatah that caused the crisis of the national project. […] How can we explain these 50% of prisoners who are members of Fatah, detained by Israel, when 60,000 Fatah fighters are mercenaries under the command of Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority, and others? This embodies the crisis of the national project. "
The Zionist entity is in difficulty
Georges Abdallah shares his opinion on the prospects of the Zionist colonial state. “ The ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ marked a turning point in the conflict with Israel, but it also imposes enormous responsibility on everyone. The enemy is well aware that it is now in the final chapter of its existence; this is not a mere military setback. […] In Gaza, there are heroes; there is no one on this planet who resembles the inhabitants of Gaza. Gaza was hit three times harder than Hiroshima. 17,000 tons of explosives were dropped on Gaza, while Dresden, Germany, was hit by 5,000 tons. Gaza did not surrender, unlike Dresden. […] The popular masses of the world, everywhere on the planet, support Gaza.” […] When 30 to 35 percent of young American Jews wave the Palestinian keffiyeh and the Palestinian flag, and declare that this Zionist entity is the enemy of the Jews and Palestine, what does that mean? It means that the countdown to Israel's existence has begun .
Like all revolutionary activists, Georges Abdallah does not limit himself to the humanitarian cause. He sees the Palestinians not as victims to be pitied but as a people building their national liberation struggle. And, in response, in a way, to the defeatism of those who think that all is lost, he ends with a vibrant tribute to the resistance of the Palestinian people.
A Resistance still present and strong
He begins with this simple summary: " Nevertheless, the Resistance is still as strong as ever. The masses of our people continue to confront the Zionist enemy with remarkable effectiveness, even though the children of Gaza are emaciated and desperately need a glass of milk. However, Gaza will not raise the white flag, and that is a very important matter. "
Later in the interview, he details his reasons for his faith in the Resistance: “ The genocide in Gaza will not continue. The genocide will fail, and Gaza and the West Bank will triumph as Israel witnesses the final chapter of its existence, and this is not a poetic speech. […] We must understand that Israel has never experienced what it is currently going through; that is why it will use its entire barbaric arsenal against us. This will result in a maximum intensification of its killing machine. Israel will unleash all its untapped barbarity on our masses in the coming days, weeks, and months. […] When a leader like Yahya Sinwar falls as a martyr and not as a fugitive in a safe haven in Qatar or elsewhere, his resistance is bound to triumph. The resistance of our people will triumph. It will triumph because of men like Sinwar who neither fled nor sought “peace.” These leaders and their resistance cannot be defeated. Our people are aware of this and will not wave the white flag, either in Gaza or elsewhere. Consequently, the current leadership has an immense responsibility to find solutions to the national crisis. These solutions will inevitably come, although we certainly regret that they are delayed, because the human cost is immense .
In Conclusion
The Revolutionary Communist Party has been engaged in all struggles of solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance from the very beginning. Every week, it reports on the abject genocide of the Palestinian population in the name of "the right to exist of the Zionist entity."
We are committed to Georges Abdallah, and we do not assume the right to tell the Palestinian Resistance what they must do. But we do have a political position. We share Georges Abdallah's statements on the indispensable anti-imperialist struggle, on the historic role of the Palestinian revolution and the strength of the Resistance, as well as on the role played by Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. Regarding the Palestinian national project, we support this sentence from the communiqué of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Communist Party [3] : " The Central Committee calls on all national action factions opposed to the Oslo Accords and the occupation to unite in a national resistance front to confront the conspiracies aimed at liquidating our cause, by intensifying the struggle in all its forms until total liberation. "
We express our full agreement with this other passage of the communiqué: " The Palestinian Communist Party affirms that any political solution that is not based on the complete end of the occupation, the establishment of an independent democratic Palestinian state on the entire national territory with Jerusalem as its capital and the full right of return of refugees, is a liquidationist solution that is rejected. The Party considers the national liberation struggle as a part of the global struggle against imperialism, Zionism and reaction, and affirms that the victory of our people requires the unity of the Palestinian, Arab and international struggle. "
Palestine will live! Palestine will win!
