Bulletin N°61 2025 Meeting of Palestinian organizations in Cairo
On October 24, several Palestinian organizations met in Cairo. Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP-GC, based in Syria), the Palestinian National Initiative (Ramallah, led by Mustafa Barghouti), the Democratic Reformist Current within Fatah (movement of Mohammad Dahlan, dissident Fatah leader exiled in Qatar) and the Popular Resistance Committees (Gaza) participated in this meeting.
The United Resistance reaffirmed the need for " the implementation of the provisions of the ceasefire agreement, including the withdrawal of the occupying forces from the Gaza Strip, the complete lifting of the siege imposed on it, the opening of all crossing points, including Rafah, the entry of all humanitarian and medical supplies and needs, as well as the launch of a comprehensive reconstruction process to restore normal life in the Gaza Strip and end the suffering of its citizens. "
They reiterated their position on interim governance in Gaza, which involves entrusting the administration of the Gaza Strip to a temporary Palestinian committee composed of independent technocrats from the Strip. " This committee will be responsible for managing day-to-day affairs and essential services ," the final communiqué stated, also emphasizing " the importance of obtaining a United Nations resolution concerning the formation of temporary UN forces tasked with monitoring the ceasefire. "
The organizations present reiterated that the weapons would only be handed over to a legitimate Palestinian government.
They also called for continued joint work aimed at unifying visions and positions " to address the challenges facing the Palestinian cause ." This includes calling for an urgent meeting of all Palestinian forces and organizations to agree on a common national strategy and to activate the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, " in a way that includes all components and active forces of our people. "
The participants concluded their dialogue by stressing that time is running out (literally: " time is made of blood ") and that the present moment is decisive. They affirmed to the Palestinian people their " commitment to making this meeting a true turning point towards national unity, for the defense of our people and their right to life, dignity and freedom; to preserving confidence in the Palestinian cause, guaranteeing the rights of future generations, their right to self-determination and the creation of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in a manner that ensures the right of return for Palestinian refugees. "
Khalil al-Hayya, who heads the Hamas delegation to the negotiations, was present at the meeting. When later questioned by Al-Jazeera about the "Al-Aqsa deluge," he replied: " October 7th is the direct consequence of 77 years of occupation. Therefore, I say that [the attack], despite all the pain of our people, the martyrs, and the prisoners, has taken the Palestinian issue to another level by revealing what the occupation truly is. "
The Zionist colonial state revealed in all its horror
Recent events seem to echo these words. In 2024, soldiers of the occupying army tortured and raped a Palestinian prisoner at length in Sde Teiman prison. A video of their atrocities was recorded using security cameras. This video was recently released, and an investigation was opened by the police authorities of the genocidal colonial state, not into the rape itself in order to punish the perpetrators, but into the leak of the video in order to find out who was responsible. It turned out that the army's prosecutor general, Yifat Tomer-Yeroushalmi, orchestrated or allowed this leak. Under pressure, she resigned and was subsequently arrested and imprisoned. TV5 Monde, one of only two media outlets in France (along with RFI) to report on this, tells us: " She is accused of leaking a video showing Israeli soldiers torturing and raping a Palestinian prisoner. " The channel's only comment was a reminder that NGOs have long denounced the practice of torture in Zionist state prisons, that the government systematically ignores these criticisms, and then it moved on to the next topic. These events should be constantly replayed in our media , but they aren't.
In contrast, the Zionist media broadcast a reaction from one of the psychopathic monsters responsible for the gang rape. He begins by saying: “ This is treason against all of Israel, treason against the soldiers of the IDF. What wickedness and cruelty to commit such an act! ” And that's not all. He continues, lamenting his own fate: “ She is not the victim; the victims are my friends who are suffering from anxiety. […] I am being exposed as an aggressor before the entire Arab world. We have suffered damage; she shouldn't play the victim. ” This speaks volumes about the utter inhumanity of this “model of democracy in the Middle East,” where denouncing rape is considered cruel and where perpetrators parade in the media , taking responsibility for their despicable acts.
As for Netanyahu, he stated: “ The Sde Teiman incident has caused immense damage to the image of the State of Israel and the IDF, and to our soldiers. This is perhaps the most serious public relations attack the State of Israel has suffered since its founding. I have never seen one so intense. This demands an independent and impartial investigation, and I demand that it be carried out. ”
This demonstrates, if any further proof were needed, the true nature of Zionism. Their perspective is to staunchly defend their colonial construct in service of Western imperialism. They also know they have lost the battle for popularity; the people of the world now know where they stand. The practice of torture is routine in Zionist prisons—this is a well-known fact. The sole concern of the leaders of this genocidal colonial state, as with the genocide in Gaza, is to prevent these facts from being documented. Netanyahu is right about the importance of this disclosure and the damage it would cause to the Zionist entity. The best proof of this is that most of our media outlets, subservient to the dominant ideology—and therefore to Western imperialism, and thus to its Zionist extension—remain silent on the matter.
In France, it's repression again and again.
On November 5th, at 6:00 AM, the National Police raided the family home of Omar Alsoumi, a Palestinian exile and one of the spokespeople for Urgence Palestine. He was taken into custody at the Meaux police station for allegedly condoning terrorism. He has been detained there ever since, his custody having been extended on the 6th. This early morning arrest in front of his wife and children comes on top of more than six months of asset freezes, an arbitrary administrative decision that has plunged his family into a precarious situation.
The French bourgeois state is once again adhering to its imperialist line of support for the Zionist colonial state . This attack comes as genocide and colonization continue in Gaza and the West Bank, armed by France and Western powers. This arrest is part of a broader repressive offensive to silence Palestinian resistance and the expression of our solidarity with the Palestinian people's struggle for liberation. This relentless persecution occurs while French and Israeli soldiers from the genocidal army return to France without being bothered by the authorities. Having failed to dissolve Urgence Palestine thanks to massive popular solidarity, the authorities are now targeting activists.
Omar Alsoumi is a Palestinian in exile. Like many others, he advocates for the liberation of his land and an end to the oppression of his people. Omar Alsoumi and others are organizing Urgence Palestine (Palestine Emergency). The genocide there, as well as the repression and impunity here, must be stopped.
It is no coincidence that, increasingly, the targets of repression are those who support not "a just and lasting peace," but the national liberation of Palestine—in other words, anti-colonial and anti-imperialist activists. Urgence Palestine is among them. As we have already written, emotion in the face of the massacres is permitted, criticism of "the far-right Netanyahu" is tolerated, but anti-colonial positions in support of national liberation, those that consider Palestinians not as victims, but as a people building their liberation, are forbidden.
In conclusion
This repression clearly indicates that the right path is that of an anti-colonialist, anti-imperialist position, in support of national liberation, which takes into account the reality of the situation: the cause we are defending is winning.
The Palestinian people can only rely on themselves, their Resistance, and immense international solidarity. The Zionist colonial state is now an outcast among nations. For the moment, it has failed to end the genocide and defeat the armed Resistance. International solidarity must now continue and grow stronger. Let us be firmly convinced that if imperialism is to retreat in Palestine, it will be yet another advantage in pushing it back in France and everywhere else!
To aid in the national liberation of Palestine, clear anti-colonialist, anti-imperialist, and anti-Zionist actions and rhetoric are more necessary than ever, denouncing the actors and accomplices of the replacement colonization implemented in Palestine . It is impossible to support the struggle for a free Palestine without supporting the armed resistance in all its forms and actions, and without demanding the end of the apartheid colonial entity, as its existence prevents genuine peace.
Now more than ever, we need to build a gathering of all those who support the national liberation of Palestine and its armed resistance, to make our militant contribution, in France against our capitalists and their supporters, to "a free Palestine from the river to the sea".
