For its part, the TASS news agency reports what is known of a phone conversation between Presidents Trump and Maduro. This call was arranged by Brazil, Qatar, and Turkey. The agency claims that during this conversation, " The United States is ready to guarantee the safety of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro upon his departure from the country if he resigns immediately," reports the Miami Herald, citing sources. Commenting on the content of a November phone conversation between Maduro and US President Donald Trump, the sources indicate that the United States is prepared to guarantee Maduro, his wife, and his son "safe passage" if he leaves office without delay. The article emphasizes that Caracas proposed transferring political control to opposition forces while leaving command of the armed forces with the current leadership. According to one source, this phone call was "a last-ditch attempt to avoid a direct confrontation ."
All these elements point to an operation against Venezuela in order to establish a government directly under the thumb of the United States.
In response to this situation, the Communist Party of Venezuela issued a statement describing the situation: " The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) denounced the growing US military expansion in the Caribbean and the Pacific, where, according to the organization, the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, thousands of troops, several warships, and F-35 fighter jets have been deployed. The party asserts that Washington is using the pretext of fighting drug trafficking to mask its intentions to interfere in Venezuela's political situation. The PCV also criticized President Donald Trump's recent statements regarding CIA operations in the country, recalling the historical impact of such actions in Latin America. Furthermore, it held the opposition sectors led by María Corina Machado and the government of Nicolás Maduro responsible for the worsening crisis: the PCV accuses Machado of promoting transnational interests and the government of intensifying domestic repression and implementing regulations that, according to the PCV, violate the rights enshrined in the Constitution. Faced with this situation, the PCV rejects both American interference and the course of action set by Machado and the government of Nicolás Maduro, and calls on the working class and democratic sectors to form a broad front to defend the Constitution, recover rights, and promote a sovereign political solution to the crisis .
Our Revolutionary Communist Party strongly condemns the aggressive actions of the United States against Venezuela, and assures the Venezuelan people and their Communist Party of its full internationalist solidarity.
The Communist Party of Venezuela demands information about the Maduro-Trump exchanges
The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) demands that President Nicolás Maduro clarify "immediately and transparently" the content of his telephone conversations with US President Donald Trump, given the lack of transparency surrounding these contacts and the risk that they compromise national sovereignty.
Jackeline López, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the PCV, warned that the country is going through a complex situation, marked by an increasing escalation of imperialist aggression in the Caribbean, and that any political agreement concluded without the knowledge of the people could have serious consequences for Venezuela and the entire region.

The communist spokesperson denounced the fact that the Venezuelan people are completely unaware of the content, conditions, offers and commitments that could be discussed between Maduro and Trump.
"The people have no information on the topics discussed or the agreements under consideration. We demand that the country be informed with the utmost clarity of what is being negotiated. The exercise of national sovereignty cannot be done behind closed doors ," López said.
He recalled, quoting Che Guevara, "not even a hint of imperialism," and warned that it is unacceptable to trust secret negotiations with those who maintain hostile policies and sanctions that have caused enormous suffering to the Venezuelan people. "The population is already suffering enough without its future now being at stake in secret talks ," he stated.
The United States uses Caribbean countries as a platform for aggression.
López denounced the fact that Trump continues to promote extraterritorial laws that violate international law and the right of peoples to self-determination, while Washington uses Caribbean countries as platforms for trials and interference operations against Venezuela.
He specifically called into question the role of the government of Trinidad and Tobago, which he described as an "effective partner in these operations", adopting "servile and obsequious positions towards imperialism" contributing to regional destabilization.
"We reject the fact that Caribbean governments are lending themselves to these maneuvers. An intervention or escalation of aggression by the United States would seriously affect the economy and stability of the entire region," he said.
Faced with this scenario, the Communist Party stressed that the unity of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean is today "more necessary than ever" to face the threats and defend regional sovereignty against imperialist actions.
